My Project
In our early childhood classroom, we believe that learning about the world begins with understanding ourselves and the people around us. Community helpers—like firefighters, nurses, postal workers, and teachers—play essential roles in children's daily lives, and learning about these helpers gives students a sense of safety, gratitude, and civic understanding.
We are requesting funds to purchase:
Durable and visually appealing posters featuring community helpers in action, community helper puzzle, and "All About Me" posters and resources that prompt children to answer questions.
These tools are not just instructional—they're empowering. When children see themselves reflected in learning materials and begin to understand the important roles others play, they develop empathy, respect, and a sense of belonging. The community helper unit is a cornerstone of early social studies and combining it with self-reflective activities ensures deeper engagement and lasting impact.
