My students need dough to make their own CA state relief maps. The US relief map will show them an example to use in Social Studies.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 4th grade at a Title I school in a high poverty area. My students never have the opportunity to create hands on projects due to the lack of funding. It is also very difficult to get parental donations where I teach.
At my school we are limited to $20.00 per student for total supplies the entire year. Most of that monetary amount goes to paper, pencils, crayons, and pens alone. There is never enough money to allow the students to make fun art projects or hands on science and social studies projects.
My students are studying California history, part of the 4th grade standard in California. We are currently learning the different regions in California and I know they would enjoy making a California relief map project which would allow them to have fun and learn about California's geography at the same time. We need dough to make California relief maps. We also need a US relief map to show students an example to use in Social Studies.
When I do get the rare opportunity to let my students create a fun filled hands on project, their smiles alone make the donations worth it! They glow with excitement all while learning!
