Help me give my students a class set of Vernier Calipers to perform accurate measurements during lab work. This project will also provide additional filament to supply our classroom 3D printers.
Our school is located in a rural, mountainous, and geographically remote area of West Virginia. Over three-quarters of our students come from low-income households. To ensure these students are College and Career Ready when they graduate high school, we need to give them rich learning experiences with problem solving.
My Project
This project will provide my students with a class set of Vernier Calipers. These instruments will allow my students to perform accurate measurements when they are completing math lab assignments. The calipers will be used by students in AP Calculus and Geometry classes to find precise measurements of a variety of objects including find the radii of spherical objects.
Math labs provide students with the opportunity to have real-life experiences with mathematics.
These experiences help students learn to be problem solvers and helps them prepare for future careers in STEM fields.
This project also includes three spools of filament to supply our classroom 3D printers.
