This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach in a wonderful community. Most of my students are from historically underserved immigrant families. Their parents were not able to go to school and it is important for them to have kids who successfully finish high school and college so they can create a better life for themselves.
It is crucial for my students to gain a solid knowledge in math so they can be successful and ready to tackle the high demands of the future.
The more materials and supplies I can provide for them, the less time we spend worrying about them trying to find the funds to get supplies and more time to focus on real life math skills that they need to college and career.
With strong background in middle school math, I am aiming to send my students ready to overcome the challenges of abstract higher level math in high school, college, and later career. The hope is that these students come back to uplift their families and our community as a whole.
