This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The past few years have been both physically and mentally taxing on both students and teachers alike. Even though Covid-19 seems like a thing of the past, its lingering effects still affect our students in some way. Whether its the the disruption it caused in daily lives, the job loss, the gaps in in-person education, or the financial strains it put on everyone … its effects still linger today. Although this grant will not be able to provide an entire classroom set of TI-84 Plus CE Graphing Calculators, what it will do is replace the lost, broken, or worn out calculators. It will also allow the opportunity for students to check-out a calculator for a day or two to finish work or take the ACT outside of school.
Along with the TI-84 graphing calculators, I am also including some inspirational and math related posters.
After an accident that left part of our building condemned for well over a year, I lost several classroom items due to damage. Part of those items damaged were all the posters and other decor that I had hanging on my classroom walls. My students have taken notice and have even made the comment, “now your walls look like a prison walls.” This is not how I want them to think or feel. Please help my students feel welcome and inspired when they enter my classroom. Help give them the technology and atmosphere they need to grow their minds educationally and emotionally.
