My Students
Help my scientists! We use a lot of math in my Science class, but the few calculators we have do not function correctly. My students cannot learn when their calculators give them the wrong answers!
My middle school students are energetic, inquisitive and hard-working.
They come to class each day curious and ready to learn. Their positive energy inspires me to do my best for them each day!
Our school provides many wonderful resources to help my students achieve their best. Unfortunately, most students do not have the ability to purchase proper school supplies of their own. As a result, they rely on our school to make sure they are prepared to learn.
My Project
New calculators will provide numerous opportunities for my students to learn and do their best in school. In Science class we use calculators in almost every laboratory activity we do. The few calculators we have do not function properly and give students incorrect information. New calculators will ensure that students make accurate calculations. Accurate calculations will mean students will be able to focus on the concept we are learning rather than the math mistakes the calculators are making.
For many students, Math is not a favorite subject.
When we use math in my Science class students are often apprehensive or unsure of themselves. Although calculators may seem like a simple request, they will provide my students with the confidence to continue their interest in Science without their math abilities getting in the way. With confidence, their interest in science will grow and develop, creating endless opportunities for them in their futures.
