Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
IB Math is a bit of a monster for students. However, IB allows the use of advanced calculators like the Ti-Nspire. With access to these calculators, more students would be IB Diploma recipients, an achievement that would propel them to further, future success.
I teach math in the border town of Nogales, Arizona.
Funding is tight in all Title I schools, but perhaps tighter here than in most. Making things worse, many of my students wake up at 4 AM to cross the border to attend school here in the US. I admire their commitment to their education and feel they deserve the greatest amount of support that I can provide. I'm truly blessed to have such amazing students and wish to provide them with every advantage at my disposal. They deserve the best I have to offer, and they deserve better equipment!
