Calculators for Mathematicians

My students need calculators to start the new school year.

My Students

Help us become better mathematicians by providing us with the tools needed to be successful.

My students are intelligent, motivated, and curious 6th graders.

They want to learn and when given the right resources and opportunities, they can achieve anything. Our school is a Title I school, and so many of my students are unable to provide for basic supplies such as pencil, paper, and calculators.

My Project

Our school district has moved to the new Common Core Curriculum. The new math curriculum involves a lot of in-depth problem-solving and multi-step calculations. By having a set of calculators in our classroom, my students will have an opportunity to solve these problems more accurately and efficiently.

In the past, I have asked my students to bring their own calculators to school.

Each year, I also have a good portion of my students who are unable to purchase one. I end up borrowing calculators from other teachers which only provided one calculator for each team. It is a challenge to only have 1 calculator for every 4 students. Your donation will allow each of my students to work independently and to become great problem-solvers.
