Help me give my students what they need to be successful. During this difficult time with the COVID-19 pandemic, students will not be allowed to share materials but they still need to use them!
The students at my High School are some of the best students that I have ever taught. Despite the many struggles that some of the kids face, they have an overwhelming desire to achieve and be successful. The particular group that would be benefiting form this project I have not had the pleasure of meeting yet, but I know that they will follow the same path as the AMAZING Raiders that came before them.
My Project
During this difficult time with the Covid-19 pandemic, we are trying to educate our students in a completely different environment than what any of us are familiar with. In math class, we make sure that every class has a class set of calculators so that students can unlock the full potential of the curriculum. This year, students cannot share materials. This means that students need to have their own calculator if they want to participate in some of the more challenging activities. Many of our students do not have the resources to do this and we want them to have the same opportunities as everyone else. I have some calculators that could be checked out to students but not enough for everyone. My goal is to be able to provide all of the students in my Algebra 1 classes with their own calculator to be used for the duration of hybrid/distance learning teaching model. These wonderful kids have already missed out so much and I want everyone to be able to successfully complete the material and learn at the maximum level!
