My Project
As a student progresses through school, calculators become a necessary tool in every math, science, and technology class. A lack of access to these tools equates to a barrier to learning more advanced concepts. In 8th grade we reach a point in the content where it becomes very difficult to solve problems completely without the aid of a calculator. Not only does this tool give students access to answers, but also access to a deeper understanding of the mathematical concepts.
Help me give my students the opportunity to think deeply about the mathematical concepts of 8th grade.
Most of my students come from low-income families who are not able to purchase these calculators themselves. This project will support 2 classrooms, meaning all the 8th graders will have access to working, good condition calculators.
I know that my students can achieve great things, and with support from donors we can make that possible!
