This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Dear Donors,
I am reaching out on behalf of middle school students, where we are committed to providing every student with the tools they need to succeed academically.
At the middle school level, mathematics plays a critical role in developing problem-solving skills and preparing students for future success in STEM fields and beyond.
However, many of our students face a significant barrier: they do not have access to the necessary calculators required for coursework. These calculators are essential for mastering core mathematical concepts, engaging with the curriculum, and performing well on standardized tests.
Our primary goals for this initiative are as follows:
Ensure equitable access to resources: Every student, regardless of their financial situation, should have access to the tools they need to succeed in mathematics. By providing calculators, we can help level the playing field for all students.
Improve academic performance: With access to calculators, students will be better equipped to handle complex problems, allowing them to focus on understanding key mathematical concepts rather than being limited by a lack of tools.
Prepare students for standardized testing: Many standardized tests in middle school, including state assessments, require the use of calculators. Ensuring that every student has access to one will help them perform to the best of their abilities.
Foster long-term interest in STEM: By making math more accessible and less daunting, we hope to spark greater interest in STEM subjects, encouraging students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
We are seeking your support in funding calculators for our middle school students to help us achieve these goals. Your contribution would have a direct and lasting impact on their education, confidence, and future opportunities.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
