This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Currently, my students are attending school in a detention facility. We are limited in the kind of materials we can give to the students, including calculators! Having a cohesive set of calculators for the students to use will provide a well-rounded basis for the GED test or high school courses.

Since the students are in a detention center, finding motivational books they can relate to can be difficult.

Many of the students have used Roadtrip Nation's documentaries as a source of motivation. Using these books can connect what they have learned and apply it to themselves.
