My students need 3 graphing calculators to help make learning relevant and allow us to include more real-world problems in the classroom.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Furman's classroom raised $665

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Graphing calculators create endless opportunities for students in high school math classes. From Algebra to Calculus, the graphing calculator can turn a good classroom into a great classroom.
The economy has hit our school community hard.
Many families simply do not have the money right now to purchase the "extras."
Our school has experienced growing pains in the last few years as our enrollment exploded. The students are very enthusiastic, and school spirit is at an all-time high. But, our resources have been stretched very thin.
My Project
What does a math class look like without calculators? It means the teacher shows students how to do something, but the students don't learn by seeing, they learn by doing.
If students have access to graphing calculators, the possibilities are endless. Students can take the skills they are learning and apply them to situations in their own lives, in our school, and the community. Instead of using problems from the textbook, we will collect our own data and solve our own problems. That is relevant learning that will engage teenagers.
Many of my students will be college-bound in a few years.
I do not want them setting foot in a college classroom not ever having used a graphing calculator. If they go to college without that experience, they behind before the classes even get started.
These students are very motivated individuals when given the opportunity.
Thank you for your support.
