My Students
We are a suburban high school with rural roots. Our students are ethnically, culturally and socioeconomically diverse. As a large school, we have the advantage of being able to offer students a variety of courses, extracurricular activities, and supports.
Our challenge is to connect all of our students in a meaningful way to our school community, so they can find their passions in life.
We strive to meet this challenge by creating small communities within the school, so that all students can find their place on campus, and can explore and expand their interests in a safe environment.
My Project
Help me have graphing calculators available for my students in class. They will be used nearly daily for calculations and graphing in Chemistry, Biotechnology, and AVID classes.
Having graphing calculators available in the classroom will give all of my students the tools they need to access complex mathematical analysis.
The calculators will be used in Chemistry and Biotechnology courses as a regular part of the curriculum, as well as in AVID and RTI time when students are working collaboratively on content from their academic classes. The calculators will allow equitable access to the tools of math and science.
