My Students
The students in my classroom have diagnosed learning disabilities, and take part in my specialized Intensive Learning Support classroom. They each face different difficulties with learning but work through it each and every day, and I make it my goal to make learning as enjoyable for them as possible so that they enjoy coming to school each day.
The students in my classroom range from 5th grade through 8th grade.
Due to the specific program offered in my special education classroom, my students travel from 3 different school districts. They all come from rural areas and travel 30-40 minutes each day to attend my specialized program. This makes for extremely long days for everyone!
My Project
The scientific calculators that I am requesting will help my students fit in better with the rest of their classmates. Many of my students come to school without the necessary supplies. When they are in classes that require those more expensive materials, they are not able to complete the word as easily as the other students.
Each year, I have a handful of students who are able to work on harder math, leading into pre-algebra type material.
The school provides us with basic calculators, but it is much easier on my students if they have a proper scientific calculator, like the rest of the students in their grade level.
