My Students
My students are incredible kids who come from some of the most impoverished areas of our city. Many of them come from a world where education is not a priority. With that being said, math is a subject they often do not see the importance of its use in the real world, and many of them find math challenging.
I emphasize to my students that they must always think about their future and understand that their actions today will help mold the future.
I work hard to get my students to leave my class understanding the importance of obtaining a good education. If that future is college or learning a trade, we must think and focus on what that ultimate goal is for ourselves.
My Project
The use of calculators is always a daily activity in my math classroom. By donating to our project, you will give my students scientific calculators and the opportunity to experience success in math. These calculators are a good advantage when taking standardized tests also.
Many of my impoverished students come to class without the necessary math materials.
If my students have calculators to use, it will help them practice what they already know, just a little quicker! Also, each student can increase their success in math with the proper technology.
