My Students
Imagine walking into a classroom at the beginning of year already feeling defeated by math. Many of us have been there. Now, halfway through the year, your mindset about math has changed because now you are seeing success and are actually enjoying math! This describes the students at our school.
At our Title I school, math is a favorite subject now.
These students work hard at improving their problem solving skills and are building a growth mindset about math. This mindset change has spurred some amazing growth in these students.
My Project
These TI-30XII calculators will help my students be successful in math by providing them with tools to aid in calculations of complicated math formulas. We live in an age where students have calculators in their pockets everywhere they go. In order to nurture them into becoming confident mathematicians, I need to be able to teach them how to use the tools they have access to.
When we are exploring geometry, scientific calculators are a necessary tool in the aid of computing volume and surface area of 3D forms.
My students need to have access to a scientific calculators in class because our school has a no electronics policy during class time. This tool is essential for their learning and understanding of math concepts beyond basic calculations. Due to our demographic, my students cannot afford to purchase their own. This is why having a class set of calculators is essential for the education of my students.
