Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
With the California Framework and new textbook adaptation in the near future we are currently seeking for new and innovating supplemental programs and textbooks that will meet the common core mathematics for years to come. A class set of Scholastics Magazine will serve a supplemental program but most importantly it will deliver current issue stories using mathematics. For example, each month, will feature seasonal themes or events. Additionally, each story will allows students to calculate math and gain knowledge of the context while activating math knowledge.
Each math magazine provides my students with appropriate, factual current event readings, while supporting their math learning.
My goal is that my eight grade math students both in Dual , Gate, and regular math feel challenged and practice mathematics, yet stay on top of what happen and is happening in the world around them.
