My students need to graph complicated functions and visualize statistics.
I teach Statistics and Geometry to high school students in a high-need community.
My school focuses on preparing students for college and real-world experiences. My students can not afford their own calculators, so our school has to provide them in class as well as for borrowing for SATs and such.
My Project
My students need graphing calculators to practice their skills and prepare for the SATs and standardized state tests. The students will use these calculators in our next unit. In Statistics, we will be exploring bivariate data. The students will use the graphing functions as well as the 2-variable data functions. They can input large quantities of data and calculate many different summaries of that data. The Geometry students will be using the calculators to practice translations as well as calculate the Pythagorean Theorem with right triangles. Both classes will use the calculators to do review problems for standardized tests.
Your donation will help these students to reach their goal of going to college.
They will not only discover how cool and complex math is, but also how with these tools they can more easily demonstrate their vast knowledge of mathematics. Please put these tools to success in their hands.
