My Students

This year, I took on the challenge of a dual position at my school: Reading Specialist 5-8 and Librarian K-8. During my first year at this school, I made a promise to myself that I'd ooze positivity every day I walked across the threshold. I'm proud to say I have maintained that mentality and have modeled such for my students.

My students are opinionated, passionate, and driven young adults.

They see my positivity and sometimes they match it, sometimes they don't - and that's okay! But I know it's MY job to be that source for them every day.

My Project

Every day, about seventy five books are checked in and out of our library. I normally invite students to read a few pages to ensure they can not only read it, but also enjoy it! I've created a warm and inviting atmosphere in the library so far.

However, there are still a few missing pieces: easier physical access to the books and cozy seating to try out those books!

I am in need of clear boxes to separate the non-fiction books into subjects. I also would love two pieces of comfy seating to offer the students when they come down and visit.
