My Project
Often in math classes students are taught to use graphing calculators in order to easily pass the standardized test at the end of the year. This leaves students in Algebra 2 without the basic math skills they need to be successful.
With the scientific calculator students will only be able to use the calculator for basic math not the algebra skills they are missing.
I have also seen students type entire programs into a calculator instead of writing it down and when they miss a problem they do not know why.
The white boards will encourage students to write things out. The main point of this project is for students to understand their why in a math class.
