Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Most of my day is spent teaching children literacy. In my classroom, students work in flexible small groups. They need decodable texts to use during their literacy block. These decodable books will allow my students to work with peers and myself to improve their foundational skills and have meaningful discussions about what they are reading. My students need to learn, not only how to read, but to understand and apply what they are reading through literacy activities. With these books, they will gain more confidence as a reader, because the books are differentiated to meet the needs of the students in my classroom.
Your donation will give my students the opportunity to become successful readers through rich and engaging books.
These books will help make my students lifelong readers inside and outside of the classroom. They will gain the confidence they need to understand the importance of reading in order to become successful. Thank you so much for your support!
