This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In my Spanish Immersion classroom we use whiteboards almost daily, multiple times a day, for math, small groups, Spanish Language Arts, etc. My first graders love using their whiteboards to show their work or simply to draw on during free time. The problem we run into is the dry erase markers never last, or they seem to disappear along with the caps and erasers. This means that students need to leave their seats to go find a replacement for whatever they need, which then causes a distraction to not only the individual student but those around them as well.
By having these LCD writing tablets, my students will be able to avoid all of the problems with whiteboards and instead be able to focus on their learning!
They won't have to worry about what supplies they may need or whether their existing supplies will work or not.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
