My students need erasable pens so we can get back to writing! We want to say goodbye to broken pencils and sharpening all day long. Our learning time is so precious!

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a very enthusiastic group of 2nd graders who love to learn! We love to spend our time on task and we dislike wasting any amount of time. We learn, we have fun, we work hard, we persevere and we try our best to be very efficient. Erasable pens might make our lives in 2nd grade much easier!
My students an amazing group of 23 seven year olds who love to learn.
We are a very diverse classroom and we have many different learning styles and needs. This means a lot of running around for their teacher but I love what I do! We have been using pencils forever and I have spent a great deal of money on fancy pencil sharpeners over the years that always end up breaking by spring. We go through a ton of pencils each year. Boxes upon boxes per month even. We use them all day long! We came up with the idea of possibly trying out erasable pens. What's better than a great erasable pen? I think it would really be a huge advantage to my students if they could spend less time breaking pencils, sharpening broken pencils and worrying about whether or not they are doing their best writing because of what they are writing with. It's becoming an issue that we definitely don't have time for when we are working so hard to be successful each day. This is where you come in :)
My Project
My students would each get an erasable pen that they would be so excited to use throughout their day in all areas of their academics. They wouldn't have to get up to sharpen it. They wouldn't sharpen it so much that the sharpener eventually breaks every spring and they wouldn't have to worry about interrupting their learning to figure out the best way to get their work done. Broken pencil, 1/2 a pencil, no pencil? I love pencils but they are no match for 2nd graders. We need to try something that is going to allow us to get the most out of our day.
I feel that this project will make a difference in the lives of my students because they can get to work and not allow a silly pencil to interrupt their day, their learning and their enthusiasm!
As silly as it sounds... it's a lot of work.
Erasable pens here we come! We hope :)
