My third graders are amazing little individuals! They come into my classroom every morning with bright energetic smiles ready to take on the day.
Our school is an AVID Elementary school that focuses on positive growth mindset through students' individual determination.
The students in my classroom, believe in themselves and each other. They work collaboratively in small groups throughout the day. Each member is very important to the learning process by positively encouraging and helping each other.
We thank you for your support!
My Project
I am creating this project for three 6-Leaf Prism Tables to slowly get rid of desks and reinforce collaboration and flexible seating. I have one table in my classroom with stability balls for flexible seating. This table is the absolute favorite place to be! With this project, I am hoping to create an atmosphere of excitement to be at different tables with more stability balls, stools or even cushions.
The tables will allow students to be seated within close proximity to enhance open discussion and partner work.
Collaboration is very important in the classroom and tables would make open discussions much easier than desks. The tables would allow students to see all of their group members without having to lean over each other to talk to the whole group.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
