My Project
I teach a 3K/4K SCIS class, which is a special class in an integrated setting. This class is comprised of ten general education students and eight students with disabilities. I am requesting flexible seating for my classroom.
Gone are the days of criss cross applesauce.
There has been a lot of research that shows that offering students flexible seating options leads to better learning outcomes. Research has found that there is better communication, increased engagement, better behavior, faster transitions, better physical health, improved academic performance, improved personal skills and an overall sense of empowerment.
