My Students

This is a quote my students learn the first week of school each year.
It's our mantra and a reminder that we can do anything if we truly put our minds to it. Most importantly, it inspires us to shy away from excuses and focus on solutions.
I work in an inner city school with 100% of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch. Despite those challenges, my students are excited to work on the many engaging projects I design throughout the school year. This year will not be any different.
My Project
I need 40 copies of the book, "The Wild Book" for my students. This is a book written in verse about a student with learning disabilities. I know my struggling students will be able to see themselves in this book and my higher students will be able to understand other students better.
Each student having their own personal copy of the book makes a difference.
It eliminates the need for lots of needless copies and it allows students to work at their own pace when reading. Last, it allows me to send the work home for additional practice without having to run off a copy of material that we aren't working on in class.
