This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Imagine the delighted faces of my first graders as they step into a classroom transformed into a serene, coastal retreat! I'm dreaming of creating a calming and inspiring learning environment "By the Sea," a space where the tranquility of the beach fosters focus, creativity, and a genuine love for learning.

My wonderful first graders are bright, curious, and full of energy, but sometimes the hustle and bustle of a typical classroom can be overwhelming.

By transforming our space to evoke the peace of the seaside, with soft blues, natural textures, and cozy areas, I aim to create a haven where they feel safe, calm, and ready to explore the wonders of first grade! I am requesting rolling storage carts to organize student supplies;, bulletin board supplies to highlight student work; a classroom rug for flexible seating during class meetings and read alouds; and décor/decorations. I know that the having these items in soft blues and natural textures will have the effect of calming my students and helping them focus on the business of learning.
