My Students
Have you ever been playing a game with friends where you had the answer first, but didn't get to answer first? It's so annoying.
Many of my students come from homes with very little.
They look forward to coming to school to eat, play, and learn. For some of them it is an opportunity to leave the house, since it isn't always safe to go outside. In addition, many of my students struggle to learn. Many are below grade level in most subjects. This is why I am always looking for fun and exciting ways to present material. One way I have been able to do that is using a Smart Board to create interactive lessons and games.
My Project
Like I mentioned above, there is nothing worse than having an answer, but not being able to share it, especially when there is a reward on the line. When we play games in my class, the biggest complaint is, "I raised my hand first." Unfortunately, sometimes I can't be certain who put their hand up first. The Eggspert will change that. It will give the children the opportunity to "buzz" in. I will be able to tell who actually had the answer first and it will be just like a real game show. What could be better?
I always ask myself if the things I buy for my classroom will motivate my students.
There is no doubt in my mind that this will. Not only will it make the game even more fun, but it will help my students to focus. They will have no choice but to pay close attention to the questions being asked because they will have to beat their opponents out to answer. I won't be choosing the person who is sitting quietly with their hand raised. It will all fall in the hands of the buzzer.
