My students need a button making machine to help them learn their vocabulary and sight words.

My Students

The English language has many words that are an exception to the sounding out or spelling rules. Having my students wear a button with sight words on them can help them learn.

I work with students from Kindergarten through fifth grade.

I am a reading teacher working with students who are having difficulty reading. Most of the students in my class come from high poverty and have little exposure to the written language. They are kind, friendly, and are willing to work hard.

My Project

The buttonmaking machine will be used to make buttons that have sight words on them. Students can wear a button each day to reinforce new vocabulary words. I will also make buttons as a form of a reward with our school logo, with pictures of teachers, and students. I will give students buttons that they can be proud of which can entice other students to read more books.

Being able to read can open many doors to my students.

They can become well informed citizen, successful in the workplace, and enjoy reading novels that enables them to use their rich imagination.
