Butterflies Invade our School!

My students need a Painted Lady Butterfly model set and 8 Painted Lady Butterfly 5-Larvae culture coupons because these students participate in our garden program and this will help them to learn about living things.

My Students

Science is better learned through hands-on exploration! We have started a garden and a garden program at our school. The students are studying all about living things. The students who participate in the program are third graders and they truly enjoy our hands-on learning experience.

Our school is in a suburb in New Jersey.

The students who participate in our program are mainly third and fourth grade general education and special education students. This program allows the teachers to address the science curriculum through hands-on experiences and it helps the teachers meet the diverse needs of their students. The special education students who participate gain an invaluable educational experience when working in the garden. They are truly engaged and their learning is evident!

My Project

I have requested a Painted Lady Butterfly model set and eight Painted Lady Butterfly 5-Larvae culture coupons so students can participate in our garden program. These resources will be used by the teachers and students who are participating in our garden program. In the spring, the teachers will begin to teach about living things and the butterfly life cycle. The Painted Lady culture coupons will allow each teacher to provide their students with a firsthand experience where they can observe the entire butterfly lifecycle.

This project makes a huge difference in our students' lives.

By providing our children with the opportunity to garden and observe living things, we are changing the way that they learn. Through firsthand experience, these children are learning and they will always remember and retain the knowledge that they gain from this educational endeavor. The butterfly observation is something that our students enjoy and learn from, and most of all they will remember it for years to come!
