My Students

I work in a school district that has over 50 different languages. Seventy-four percent of our students receive free/reduced-price lunch. They are eager to learn and display an enormous love for being at school. For some, this is their first experience of being in school. Most of my students come from an immigrant or refugee family.

As their teacher, I want to provide a classroom environment that makes learning engaging and exciting for them so they can continue to enjoy and be successful at school.

It is my hope that they carry this love of learning throughout their education.

My Project

In this evergreen state, we often have many rainy day recesses. I want to provide my students with plenty of fun and educational board games that they can enjoy together during those cold, dreary days in the Pacific Northwest.

I believe these games will provide a good mixture of calmness and excitement for the students during our stay indoors.

I chose games that will allow for students to work alone or play with a group of peers. For the most part, it's important that the students enjoy our classroom and I believe having awesome games to play would help with that. These games will also help build community. That's also important to me.
