But I Hate to Read...

My students need more great books to entice them to read and also informational books that will help them adapt to middle school a little better.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Zeglin's classroom raised $281

My Students

Did you even find a book that you could not resist? I am hoping that students who "hate" to read will get sucked into the intriguing world of the Bluford High series or into the past of author Walter Dean Myers. I also want students to learn more about themselves at this age.

My students are a great group of learners.

Many students love to read. However, there are a few that have never experienced the joy of a favorite book. Other students are still struggling to adapt to the rigors of middle school. I feel that some books on how to cope with this age may help these students to feel more comfortable and make some good friends.

My Project

I am requesting books that will change lives. When a student becomes interested in a new book, that is the starting point for a great relationship. For instance, a student could develop a life-long love of technology from reading How Stuff Works. Another student may learn the skill of how to start a conversation. The possibilities are endless.

Creating life-long readers is my number one goal.

Middle school is a hectic time in students' lives but it can also be a happy and productive time. Please help my students be successful citizens. Books are one way that students can learn about our world. Please put those wonderful books in their eager hands!
