As an English teacher at a continuation high school, it isn't easy to get students to take pride in their work. However, I find that after workshopping resumes, essays, or even poems, students do feel proud of their work and enjoy showing it off to others.
Being able to print an assignment that you have worked on for weeks may seem trivial, but it is something that my students do not get to experience.
Most of my students do not have computers at home, and none have their own printer. My students always ask me to print their work so they can put it on their wall or show their guardians. Students also want to print their resumes, job applications, financial aid worksheets, etc.
I would love to be able to provide a printer and ink for my students so that they can bring their work home and feel proud of it.
