My students need math manipulatives, such as Pop and Add, Unlock It!, and Twist and Turn, and a laptop to help build number sense during our math block.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Busy Kindergarteners need hands-on activities to make math come ALIVE! My students love hands-on manipulatives to help them understand challenging topics.
My room is a SPED inclusion room serving students with ADD, ADHD, SLP, and Intellectual disabilities.
We are in a title one school in DC Public Schools. My kids come to school ready to learn every day but sometimes math is really challenging!
My Project
I am requesting a lap top so that my students can go on I-Ready and participate in individualized math lessons during our center time. I am also requesting hands-on math games to help my students master the concept of addition and subtraction. A few of the games that I'm requesting are Pop and Add, Unlock It!, and Twist and Turn. The stepping stones are going to help my students understand the sequence of numbers and ultimately help them add and subtract on a numberline.
This donation will change our 2 hours for math.
My students thrive with hands-on learning, and these items will help me help them learn grade level standards. Not only will you be helping this class but generations of Kindergarten classes to come.
