Help me give my students a variety of hands on activities to kept their hands busy. These manipulatives will also help support their fine motor development, which is crucial to a young child’s learning.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom supports 25 students ranging from 3-5 years old. The class is made up of students with and without disabilities and of all races and backgrounds. All of my students come from low income families, from the City of Springfield. Preschool is a child's first school experience, and my goal is to make it exciting and engaging for each and every student.
Busy hands create busy brains!
I am looking to create interactive morning activities and independent small group learning activities for my students.. A variety of manipulatives will provide my students with engaging and age appropriate opportunities for independent learning.
My Project
The selected materials for this project will help support my student's fine motor skills, as well as their ability to begin learning independently and cooperatively during small group times.
Well developed fine motor skills support a child's independence with self-help skills, as well as their early and future writing abilities.
Children will practice squeezing, pinching, and snapping materials funded by this project.
The materials for this project will also help support my student's academic skills. They will be learning about shapes, colors, letters, and numbers through the manipulation of these fine motor tasks. Children love to learn with hands-on activities!
