My Project
Transitional and life skills are skills needed for students with special needs in order to gain employment and live a more productive life post-graduation.
The life skills we practice with our Coffee Shop include following a recipe, sequencing steps in an activity, fulfilling an order, appropriate social skills, sharing, peer-peer work, basic number recognition, reading and comprehension, and health and hygiene protocol are invaluable to these learners.
The cups, coffee, and other materials needed will help us supply coffee to staff and community members for the school year. We received such great feedback from our staff community. The students feel amazing when the teacher compliments their hard work. A simple cup of coffee has brought our community closer together.
