Bunnies On the Outside, Veggies On the Inside

Help me give my students materials necessary to protect the school garden that they devote many hours to as they await our winter harvest!

My Project

Over a period of more than fifteen years, we have successfully defended our school garden from freezing temperatures, ravenous caterpillars and excessive heat waves!

This year, a new challenge hopped our way!

Our garden is being invaded by bunnies who are feasting on our garden vegetables. While they are cute, we would prefer to keep them out of our garden! Their ravenous appetites and ninja night skills have presented us with a problem we feel we can solve. Our school embraces challenges and views failure as an opportunity to learn. Thus far, our attempts to keep the bunnies at bay have not succeeded. The students will not be deterred!

My young gardeners researched other solutions. They believe the materials requested by this grant, wire fencing, will solve our problems. Not only will the fencing keep the adorable bunnies out of our garden, they are also constructed in a way that will keep the students safe as they tend to the garden.
