Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is located in the Bronx, where students are diverse and come from different backgrounds. Teaching physical education for grades K-5, I've come across students with all types of skill sets. There are students that have little to no skills because they don't have the resources to master the skills while there are other students who look as if they have a future in professional sports.
No matter what my students skill levels are my goal is to teach my students how to live a long healthy life through physical activity.

My Project
I believe that kids can learn about life through sports. Life skills such as working with others to achieve common goals, competing, getting out of your comfort zone to grow, understanding and living by rules, and handling adversity the right way can all be taught and learned through sports. Volleyball is a sport most kids aren't exposed to. I want all my students to have an opportunity to be exposed to all different types of sports.
Through your support and generosity, we can level the playing field for the less fortunate students and help them gain confidence.
