it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Maybe you know what it feels like to feel different from your peers. Maybe you were the victim of a bully. Please help me teach my students what bullying is and how to prevent it.
My students live in a small, East Texas town.
Our school serves a diverse population of economically disadvantaged families. Although my students come to school ready and eager to learn, recent budget cuts in our district have left us with little money for extras.
My Project
I am requesting bean bags to create a comfortable sitting area, a puppet stand to hold the puppets I use to role model appropriate responses to bullying situations, a small carpet cleaner, 5 copies of the book "Bullying in Schools" and a computer mouse. I will use these tools to create an area where students will feel safe enough to discuss bullying.
My students deserve to go to a school where they feel physically and emotionally comfortable.
My goal is to create a safe area where my students can feel free to share how bullying has affected their lives and what we can do to stop and prevent it.
