Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have a fantastic group of students. They are eager to learn Math and they work so hard to excel at it. Math doesn't come to them easily. They are mostly one or two or more grade levels behind and we are trying to learn Pre-Algebra. They are mostly students of color who come from historically underserved and underachieved background. Some of them are newcomers and are learning the language while trying to learn the culture. The abstract world of Algebra needs lots of visuals, word walls, and concept maps.
With more bulletin boards I can show more visuals in the classroom while will bring the abstract world of Algebra to life for my students.
I also would love to showcase their amazing creativity and their hard work when we do assessments or project and more bulletin space will definitely allow me to do so.
Showcasing the amazing work on their peers will inspire and encourage my students to keep working hard in Math and to not give up when it gets hard. This project will go a long way for many years to come by bringing Math to life.
