Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have a fantastic group of students. They are eager to learn math and they work so hard to excel at it. Math doesn't come to them easily. They are mostly one, two, or more grade levels behind, and mostly students of color who come from historically underserved and underachieved background. Some of them are newcomers and are learning the language while trying to learn the culture and make sense of complicated world of algebra. The abstract world of algebra needs lots of visuals, word walls, and concept maps.
With more bulletin boards, I can showcase my students' wonderful creativity in STEM projects.
I would love to showcase their amazing creativity and their hard work when we do assessments or projects in PBL (project-based learning tasks) and more bulletin space will definitely allow me to do so.
Showcasing the amazing work of their peers will inspire and encourage my students to keep working hard in math and to not give up when it gets hard. This project will go a long way for many years to come by bringing math to life.
