Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students at my school work really hard and have come a long way! Once a low performing school, we have made lots of gains and are well on our way to becoming an exemplary campus. However, one thing stands in the way. Despite our exceptional reading and math scores on the TAKS test, we need to get our science scores up to par. I want my kindergarten students to know from the start that science is important and fun! I saw their eyes light up this year when we explored land snails, fish, and worms. Help us to expand our learning and make these awesome creatures a part of our daily experience! A fish tank, a terrarium and the various plants, pets and related supplies will allow us to study these animals all year. Together we can make science a priority for our students and get them the resources they need to be successful!
