Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I just had a project like this funded and here I am again, posting a similar one. My students have serious food insecurities at home and I like to have a well-stocked "bodega" from which they can select items to take home to eat.

Even though I have food in my closets for my students, I want to get extra stocked up for the long breaks coming up.

Having ready-to-eat meals and healthy and filling snacks that they can grab when they're staying after school or when they head home for the weekend is a necessity. When students are hungry, they can't focus and do well in school. Providing them with simple food items like rice, ready-to-eat meals, and other pantry staples can help get them through their hunger so that they can work towards college and career readiness as they leave our school.
