My Project

Students at our school are developing skills in growth mindset, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal relationships, and mindfulness. Our students have emotional disturbances, intellectual disabilities, autism, or trauma that impacts they're day to day functioning. Nurturing the growth of a plant can empower our students to develop independence, compassion, and awareness. Additionally, they can connect what they are learning in classes to their experiences growing plants. Currently, our classroom has a massive elephant plant that students help maintain. With your help, they will each be able to grow their own!
