My Project
This project will provide fun and engaging picture books. Students of all ages enjoy having books with rich text and illustrations read to them. The books will be used to build students' vocabulary and comprehension skills. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will be used to purchase specific activities that pair with the books purchases with this project.
Vocabulary and background knowledge are key skills that can close the reading gap for our most vulnerable students. With this powerful knowledge I will focus on developing the vocabulary words that students will see across texts and across content areas.
My students come to school with diverse backgrounds and from a variety of cultures. Increasing this backgrounds knowledge will give students the opportunity to excel as they are learning to become proficient readers of English.
