My Project
My third, fourth, and fifth grade English Learners spend a lot of time working on digital assignments in their homerooms. One of their favorite things about coming to my room is having small group time to socialize and practice their skills through "Fun Friday" games.
Playing chess activates both sides of the brain and has been shown to improve concentration, encourage problem solving, and increase students' self-confidence.
We will study the history of chess and learn how each piece moves on the board so that all players understand the game.
