My Project
My reading intervention students are an amazing group of kids who need extra support. They are intelligent, hardworking, and capable. Many of my intervention students are one to two grade levels behind their classmates in reading. They need small group instruction on their level to accelerate their reading growth. I serve students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Reading has not always been a positive experience for many of these students. I strive to make them feel successful but most importantly to develop a love for reading.
Fluency opens the door to deeper comprehension, making reading a richer, more rewarding experience.
I strive to make our reading intervention time engaging and meaningful for my students and light their fire for learning to read. Reading intervention is a time when they receive extra instruction on their level. Providing my students with these magnetic phonics kits will help them practice the skills we are working on daily to improve their reading fluency and comprehension skills. These kits will allow my students to practice word mapping, encoding, and decoding words.
