This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

There are so many benefits for Transitional Kindergarteners and Dramatic Play! So many students enter Kindergarten without the opportunity for Dramatic Play while missing out on a crucial opportunity to practice skills that will help them build a foundation of pre-academic success for years to come. It also supports creativity, self-expression, and confidence in an explorative and inclusive environment. Dramatic play can help children build and learn real-life social skills and executive functioning skills that can serve them throughout their lives.

My TK and Kindergartners will use this engaging Create-a-Station to build and practice foundational skills in Language Arts, Math, and Civic responsibility in a dramatic play workstation all year long!

We have visions of our early learners practicing a multitude of life and academic skills. We hope to spark interest in their active participation in harmonious inclusivity with their peers as they navigate through more than the basics of imaginative play. We will plan for high-interest themes like the farmers market, a general store, a flower shop, a food stand, a cafe, a doctor's immunization shot clinic stand, a ticket booth, a car wash stand, a voting booth and so many more! We would also like to explore topics such as animal rehabilitation centers, information booths, recycling-zero waste stores, a ticket booth for acts of kindness, and an information booth for topics that are related to student interests that have an impact on their local community and the world around them.
