My Students

I teach kindergarten at a public school with more than fifty percent of students at or below the poverty line. Many of my students are English Language Learners. Our classroom is a diverse group from many different countries including Nigeria, El Salvador, Brazil, The Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Togo.

We love to learn and can't wait to be lifelong learners.

School is fun for us. I would like to get some STEM building materials so that we can build and create.

My Project

The building materials will have the students thinking critically and learning through play. Building is fun and exciting. These materials turn the learning of basic math and science concepts into games rather than boring pencil paper tasks. The manipulatives and resources will help my students to learn in a hands on way. Students will be able to learn topics such as measurement while physically moving slide rules and tape measures. The STEM tools will give the students sturdy materials that reinforce the content that I am teaching. These materials will really help to bring the abstract concepts to life. Please consider donating to my project and make math more exciting for my Kindergartners.
